Tuberculosis: Updated Review of Pathology, Diagnosis, Treatment and Prevention
Keywords:
tuberculosis, diagnosis, treatment, prevention, epidemiologyAbstract
Tuberculosis (TB) is a significant global infectious disease, causing high morbidity and mortality, and poses challenges in both diagnosis and treatment. This paper reviews key aspects of TB, including its pathology, diagnosis, treatment, epidemiology, prevention, and potential complications that may arise. The need for a multifaceted and integrated approach to effectively combat TB is highlighted, considering both medical and social aspects. New diagnostic techniques and advances in treatment are discussed, but the need to improve access to these tools in high-prevalence areas is also emphasized. The control and prevention of TB remains a significant challenge that requires sustained global efforts and commitment.
