Author Guidelines

1. Scope and Focus of Submissions

RIIDICI welcomes original research articles, literature reviews, case studies, and technical notes that address scientific dissemination topics from an interdisciplinary perspective.

2. Manuscript Structure

  • Title: Must be concise and accurately reflect the manuscript’s content.
  • Authors and Affiliations: Provide full names of authors, institutional affiliations, and corresponding email addresses.
  • Abstract: Recommended length of 200–250 words, summarizing objectives, methodology, main findings, and conclusions.
  • Keywords: Select 4–6 terms that best represent the manuscript’s content.
  • Main Text: We suggest the following sections: Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions (adaptable according to the nature of the work).
  • Acknowledgments (optional): Acknowledge notable contributions from individuals or institutions.
  • References: All sources cited in the text must be listed at the end of the manuscript.

3. Formatting and Style

  • Length: Full articles should generally not exceed 8,000 words (including references and notes).
  • Language: Manuscripts can be submitted in Spanish or English, with correct grammar and clarity.
  • Typography and Spacing: Times New Roman or Arial, 12-point font, with double spacing.
  • Tables and Figures: Numbered and clearly titled. Each table or figure should be referenced in the text and include its source (if applicable).

4. Bibliographic and Citation Standards

  • We recommend using the APA (7th edition) citation style or an equivalent recognized standard (Vancouver, IEEE, Chicago), as long as consistency is maintained throughout the manuscript.
  • Examples of Citations (APA 7th edition):
    • In-text: (LastName, Year) or LastName (Year).
    • In the reference list:
      • Book: LastName, N. (Year). Title of the Book. Publisher.
      • Journal article: LastName, N., & LastName, N. (Year). Title of the article. Journal Title, volume(issue), pages. https://doi.org/xx.xxxx
      • Book chapter: LastName, N. (Year). Title of the chapter. In N. Editor (Ed.), Title of the Book (pp. xx–xx). Publisher.

5. Publication Ethics

  • Manuscripts must be original and unpublished.
  • Submissions that are under review or have been published in another journal will not be accepted.
  • RIIDICI adheres to recognized publication ethics guidelines and recommends consulting the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
  • Plagiarism and data manipulation are considered serious violations. All submissions are checked using plagiarism detection software.

6. Peer-Review Process

  • All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review.
  • Authors will be notified of the status of their submission (acceptance, request for revisions, or rejection) via email.

7. Submission Procedure

  • Authors must submit their manuscripts through the journal’s platform or the editorial management system indicated on the journal’s website.
  • We recommend including a cover letter, indicating that all authors agree with the content and the submission of the manuscript.

8. Copyright

  • From the article’s publication, RIIDICI becomes the copyright holder of the published articles.
  • However, authors retain the right to use, reproduce, and share their work under the Creative Commons license (CC-BY 4.0), in line with the journal’s open-access policy.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • Disclosure of conflicts of interest: All authors are required to disclose in their paper any conflict of interest, whether financial or otherwise, that may influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project must be disclosed
  • Author of the articles: Authorship should always be limited to those authors who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the written word, so all persons who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. If other people have contributed substantive and minor aspects to the writing of the article, they should be acknowledged or listed as contributors. The corresponding author needs to declare and ensure that all appropriate co-authors and no inappropriate co-authors are included in the paper, and that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper and agreed to its submission for publication.
  • Originality and plagiarism: Authors must ensure that they have written entirely original work, and if authors have used the work and/or words of others, this has been properly cited or quoted. Plagiarism in all its forms constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable as well as automatically rejected in the editorial process
  • Search report standards: Authors submitting reports of original research need to provide an account of the work done as well as an objective discussion of the gist of their account. Also, the data needs to be presented accurately. A research report, like an article, should contain enough detail and references to allow others to reproduce the work. Any fraudulent or intentionally inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable, and automatically rejected in the editorial process.
  • Multiple, redundant or simultaneous publication: Authors may not publish manuscripts that essentially describe the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously and/or publishing the same article in different journals constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable, and, if identified, will automatically be rejected in the editorial process, or after publication.
  • Acknowledgment of quoted sources: Authors need to always cite the publications that influenced in determining the nature of the work reported. Information obtained privately, such as in a conversation, correspondence, or discussion with a third party, should not be used or reported without the explicit written permission of the source.
